Burning sage, also known as smudging has a long tradition among Native Americans and is a powerful ritual for clearing negative energy. Ancient Egyptians and Romans traditionally used to treat digestive issues, memory problems and sore throats and to promote healing and wisdom. It is said to bring a sense of calm. Sage also has strong antibacterial and antimicrobial properties and has traditionally been used to treat colds and flus and viruses.
Burning Palo Santo or ‘Holy Wood’ relieves anxiety and raises your vibration. Palo Santo traditionally has been used for relieving colds, flu symptoms, and stress. It is supposed to calm the immune and nervous system aiding in a quicker recovery from illness. While burning Palo Santo before you go to bed soothes and promotes sleep. It also smells beautiful.
Instructions: Burn a candle, set an intention, and then light the sage using the candle. Blow it out so the embers are glowing. With both hands, bring the smoke into your heart, over your head and down the front and back body to cleanse yourself. Burn it in each room of the house to clear the energy of the house.
